Arthur Rank Hospice inpatient unit are looking for GPs to join their locum pool of doctors mainly covering the out-of-hours shifts for their in-patient unit.

‘We are looking for interested GPs to become part of our bank of doctors to help cover the on-call rota for the Arthur Rank Hospice inpatient unit.  This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who is interested in Palliative Medicine and in increasing their knowledge and competence in this important field of medicine.

There are three different types of shifts available:

  1. Overnight non-resident on call on weeknights and weekends/bank holidays.
  2. Daytime shifts on weekends or bank holidays, which will require face to face review of hospice inpatients.
  3. Daytime shifts on weekdays.

Shifts are paid on a sessional basis according to activity levels.

We undertake to provide annual training updates to maintain and improve knowledge.

The GP will need to be within a 45 minute travel distance to the hospice in case they need to review a patient.’
