Increasing Self Awareness to Lead Others with Confidence
This practical skills workshop, the first in a series of nine, will suit those who are relatively new to a leadership role, and equally, those more experienced leaders who would like to refresh their skills, knowledge and confidence in leading teams in today’s constantly evolving primary care environment.
Workshop Objectives
The workshop will:
- Provide an understanding of what leadership is, and how it relates to staff engagement, inclusivity and quality of service delivery
- Provide opportunity to increase awareness of own assumptions, motivations, values and traits that impact own leadership style
- Teach the value of reflecting on experience to continually improve as an effective and inclusive leader
Learning Outcomes
Participants will
- Understand the difference between management and leadership
- Understand the role of leader in delivering NHS services – the connection between effective leadership, engaged staff and quality of service delivery
- Have increased awareness of self as leader and impact of own responses on others, including awareness of personal bias and triggers
