Increasing your confidence to generate high team performance and development

This practical skills workshop, the sixth in a series of nine, will suit those who are relatively new to a leadership role, and equally, those more experienced leaders who would like to refresh their skills, knowledge and confidence in leading teams in today’s constantly evolving primary care environment.

Workshop Objectives

The workshop will:

  • Provide an understanding of the importance of role clarity and expectations for every member of the team
  • Explore ways of setting performance standards, monitoring and giving feedback that enables all team members to feel valued
  • Consider ways of effectively addressing under-performance at early stages

Learning Outcomes

Participants will

  • Appreciate the relevance of clear role boundaries, role expectations and goals in driving performance
  • Be able to use tools and techniques to monitor, review and give feedback in an inclusive way
  • Understand how appraisal conversations can drive both performance and development
  • Have confidence to recognise and informally manage under-performance and hold team members to account
