The process of becoming an approved educator changed on May 1st 2024. Our programme (outlined below) is based on the new 5 stage process. Please ensure you open the drop down for each stage below to understand what work is required during the programme.

An GP educator grant offer is available for cohort 6 of Supporting Future Educators. Funding is limited on a first come, first served basis based on the below T&Cs and eligibility criteria.
First Time Approved Tier 3 Educator – £2,000
First Time Approved Tier 2b Educator – £1,000
Converting from T2b to Tier 3 Approved Educator – £1,000
First Time Learning Organisation – £2,000
Those eligible will receive a claim form application upon confirmation of our recommendation for approval from NHSE Quality Outcomes Panel. Claim forms must be submitted with a completed recognition letter within the timeframe specified.

At the time of approval, Tier 2b or Tier 3 approved GP Educators that are part of our programme must be located in a Cambridgeshire & Peterborough General Practice and will be supervising learners at an approved learning organisation from Cambridge, Peterborough or West Cambs VTS.
For any First-Time approved Educators that are not part of an Approved Learning Organisation, payment will be made to the Educator and Learning Organisation upon first time approval of the Learning Organisation. Learning Organisation applications must be received by us 3 months post educator approval for funding to be reserved.
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Training Hub reserve the right to review each funding request to confirm eligibility for payment on an individual basis dependent on circumstances. For those who complete their learning across multiple supporting future educators cohorts, funding eligibility will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
Please note, the funding criteria for becoming an educator is specific to this programme and is not representative of funding available for other programmes offered by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Training Hub.
