BMA: GP Retention Scheme
- It is important to think about how you would go about negotiating your salary and ensuring you understand the terms being offered
- It would be of great benefit to request a suitable induction with your Practice
- Would you be required to supervise trainees, medical students, AARS role practitioners and if so are suitable, safe systems in place?
- Are there areas you would like to develop e.g. becoming a Trainer, coil/implant fitting, minor surgery, dermoscopy and are opportunities available within the new Practice?
- You could consider requesting a ‘mentor’ within the Practice to help with learning new systems etc and for areas not commonly covered during locum work e.g. palliative care
