The CUH Doctors-for-Doctors arm of the service was formed in response to the Covid pandemic in March 2020 – drawing together a small team of highly experienced, pastorally-skilled GPs to help give 1:1 support to CUH medical & surgical colleagues, of all grades & specialties , at a critical time.
NHS Practitioner Health is a free, confidential service for doctors and dentists across England with mental illness and addiction problems, who are working or looking to return to clinical practice. This service is a commitment as part of the NHS Long Term Plan.
NHS England is committed to providing excellent education and rewarding training programmes for both doctors and dentists. We are aware that training to be a doctor and dentist requires a lot of time, determination, and skill and there will be periods where extra support is needed. This is where we come in: we provide short-term, solution focused interventions for doctors and dentists in training who are experiencing difficulty progressing in their training.
