New Roles in Primary Care (ARRS)

The GP contract for 2019/2020 introduced the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) with further enhancements for 2020/2021 – 2022/2023.

This scheme is funding an unprecedented growth in the workforce and will introduce new roles into Primary Care. It offers a real opportunity to shape the future and recruit, train, develop and integrate a workforce that will be flexible, adaptable and competent to deliver models of care that improve health outcomes for patients.

CPTH will support General Practice in identifying opportunities for introducing, supporting and embedding the GP contract ‘new roles’ into primary care settings, in addition to developing career frameworks and a multi-tiered training and education programme for practice roles.

What are the new roles?

There are 14 new roles in total and information about them is developing all the time. Click on the role in the list below for more information or visit our Careers page.
